What is Express Entry?

Express Entry is an online application System created by IRCC to manage Permanent Residence Applications of Skilled Workers.

There are 4 Skilled Worker Programs under which applicants can apply under Express Entry.

  1. Federal Skilled Workers Program – FSW
  2. Federal Skilled Trades Program – FST
  3. Canadian Experience Class – CEC
  4. Provincial Nominee Program – PNP

Eligibility requirement

To apply under Express Entry, Applicants have to be eligible under any of the Skilled Workers Program as listed above.

To apply under PNP, applicants have to first qualify under FSW, FST or CEC to create Express Entry Profile. Once applicant receives nomination from a Province, the application will falls under PNP.

How Express Entry Works?

If you qualify under any of the Skilled Worker program, you can create an Express Entry Profile on the IRCC Website.

After successful creation of the Profile, your profile will be added in Express Entry Pool and CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) Score will be assigned to your profile.

IRCC conducts regular draws (Rounds of Invitations) to invite candidates from the pool to submit their complete applications to IRCC.

Once you are invited, you receive ITA – Invitation to Apply letter in your Express Entry Account. Within the specified time period, you have to submit your complete application in your account. Once the application has been submitted, you will receive AOR – Acknowledgment of Receipt.

Once your application is approved, you will receive PPR – Passport Submission Request. IRCC will stamp one time entry visa on your passport and provide COPR – Confirmation of Permanent Resident Letter along with your passport. With your valid visa and COPR Letter, applicant is all set to travel to Canada and land as Permanent Resident in Canada.
